Brain Tumors
I have a particular interest and extensive experience in caring for patients with brain tumors. Tumors can occur nearly anywhere inside the skull and can cause a variety of symptoms depending on their size, location, and rate of growth. Some tumors are best treated with surgery to remove them, while others can be safely managed with radiation or medications. Certain tumors don’t need to be treated at all!
I commonly use brain mapping to remove tumors, including motor mapping and speech mapping, which helps to preserve neurologic function. I also use a variety of advanced, minimally invasive technologies in my practice to care for tumor patients, including laser ablation, Gamma Tile, BrainPath, robotic neurosurgery, and Gamma Knife radiosurgery.
Below are examples of the three most common types of brain tumors in adults. Please click on a link to learn more. Certainly, there are many other less common tumor types not included in this list that I also treat.
If you live near Denver and have a brain tumor, please consider meeting me in consultation to learn about treatment options.
