Brain Tumors
I have a particular interest and specialized training in caring for patients with brain tumors. Tumors can occur nearly anywhere inside the skull and can cause a variety of symptoms depending on their size, location, and rate of growth. Some tumors are best treated with surgery to remove them, while others can be safely managed with radiation or medications. Certain tumors don’t need to be treated at all!
I commonly use brain mapping to remove tumors, including motor mapping and speech mapping, which helps to preserve neurologic function. I also use a variety of advanced, minimally invasive technologies in my practice to care for tumor patients, including laser ablation, Gamma Tile, BrainPath, robotic neurosurgery, and Gamma Knife radiosurgery.
Below are examples of common types of brain tumors that I treat. I plan to add more over time; suggestions are welcome here. Please click on a link to learn more.
If you live near Denver and have a brain tumor, please consider meeting me in consultation to learn about treatment options.
